Assam: HSLC question papers sold for up to Rs 2,000, circulated via social media, reveals Dibrugarh SP

In a shocking revelation, Dibrugarh Superintendent of Police Shwetank Mishra has disclosed that the recent HSLC paper leak case for the General Science subject involved a widespread network of students and teachers. According to Mishra, the question papers were sold for as much as Rs. 500 to Rs. 2,000 and were circulated via social media.

Most of the students involved in the case were from Salt Brook Academy in Dibrugarh, while others were from Jagun and Dhemaji. Mishra revealed that a total of 8 students and one person have been detained and found to be involved in the case, with the person being the main accused.

Mishra added that some of the students had paid Rs. 500 for the question paper, while others had received it for free. He also said that most of the students involved were first-year commerce and science students.

The police are still investigating the case and trying to determine how many students received the question paper. Mishra said that the names of one school have surfaced and that the police have started their investigation with that school.

The investigation into the case started after the incident came to light on March 13, and the case was registered with the CID. The police were asked to collect evidence and nab the culprits and send them to the CID.

Mishra stated that the legal process would be followed in the case and action would be taken according to the involvement of each person. He also said that the police are still on the field investigating the case and trying to find links to other networks involved in the leak.

The HSLC examination of the General Science subject was cancelled after the question paper got leaked on social media. The cancelled examination will now be held on March 30 in all the centres in the state. The state education minister, Ranoj Pegu, shared the notification on his official Twitter handle.
