BTR Assam lifts BIFA Cup 2025 after edging out Bhutan's Dragon Strikers

BTR Assam, representing India, emerged as champions of the Bhutan-India Friendship Association (BIFA) Cup 2025 after a thrilling five-wicket win over Dragon Strikers in the final held at the International Cricket Ground in Gelephu, Bhutan.


Chasing a modest target of 115, BTR Assam navigated a resilient bowling effort from Dragon Strikers to finish at 119 for 8 in the allotted 20 overs. Dragon Strikers, earlier put to bat, were bowled out for 114 in 19.5 overs.


The tournament was jointly organized by the Bhutan Cricket Council Board (BCCB), the Embassy of India to Bhutan, the Bhutan Olympic Committee, and the Bhutan–India Friendship Association (Gelephu).


It featured four teams—two representing Bhutan and two from India—highlighting the spirit of sportsmanship and bilateral camaraderie.
