Kokrajhar athletes made a strong statement at the India Taekwondo Championship 2024, winning four gold and two silver medals while representing Assam in Nashik.
The team consisted of six athletes, with standout performances from Tanishree Brahma, Dhriti Nath, and Himani Rai, who each earned gold in the junior women's category. Sonamika Brahma added another gold in the under-53 kg girls' category.
Beijing Swargiary and Prizu Narzary contributed to the medal tally with two silver medals. The Kokrajhar District Taekwondo Association honoured the athletes in a celebration led by general secretary Nikunjoy Mushahary and coach Darshanita Bhorali.
In addition to their victories, the four gold medalists from Kokrajhar—Tanishree Brahma, Dhriti Nath, Himani Rai, and Sonamika Brahma—have been selected for an international coaching camp in Hong Kong, China
