NEET paper leak a serious concern, government must act firmly: Assam Congress MLAs
Congress MLAs Aminur Rashid Choudhury and Joy Prakash Das on May 24 expressed concern over the recent NEET paper leak controversy and stressed the need for strict government action to protect the future of students.
Speaking to the media in Guwahati after being felicitated by NSUI, Aminur Rashid Choudhury termed the alleged NEET paper leak a “serious concern” and urged authorities to take firm steps to prevent such incidents in the future.
“The recent NEET paper leaks are a serious concern. The government must act firmly to stop this,” Choudhury said.
The Karimganj South MLA also reflected on his political journey through student organisations, stating that his years in NSUI and Youth Congress helped shape his public life and leadership experience.
“From my early days in NSUI, to serving as Vice President at district level, and President of Youth Congress, I have spent thirty years in organisation before becoming an MLA,” he said.
Highlighting the importance of student politics, Choudhury added, “We began as students, and this platform has brought us here. My best wishes to all students for the future.”
Congress MLA Joy Prakash Das also underlined the importance of youth participation and student leadership while speaking during the programme.
“I am happy today to be felicitated by NSUI. I always feel proud to have grown through NSUI,” Das said.
He encouraged newly joined youths in Assam to work sincerely for students and society, saying that student organisations continue to create future leaders.
“Many new youth have joined in Assam this time, and if they work sincerely in service of students and the people, there are great opportunities ahead,” he added.
Das also mentioned that the Congress party was scheduled to hold an organisational meeting later in the evening and stated that an observer from Delhi was expected to attend.
The remarks come amid continuing national concern over examination-related irregularities and growing demands from students and opposition parties for stronger safeguards, transparency, and accountability in competitive examinations like NEET.
