Sribhumi pays soulful tribute to Xudhakantha Bhupen Hazarika on his 14th death anniversary
Sribhumi joined the rest of Assam on Wednesday, November 5 in commemorating the 14th death anniversary of the legendary music maestro and cultural icon, Xudhakantha Dr Bhupen Hazarika, with deep reverence and grandeur.
The district administration of Sribhumi organized a memorial event at the playground of a government school, beginning with the dignitaries and citizens offering floral tributes to the portrait of the maestro. The atmosphere resonated with harmony and unity as over five thousand students from various schools, colleges, and women’s organizations across the district came together to perform one of Dr Hazarika’s immortal songs celebrating humanity and universal brotherhood.
The solemn occasion was attended by several distinguished guests, including Sribhumi’s Guardian Minister Kaushik Roy, Ramkrishnanagar MLA Bijoy Malakar, Municipal Chairman Rabindra Dev, and District Commissioner Pradeep Kumar Dwivedi, among others. Their presence underscored the enduring legacy of Dr Bhupen Hazarika, whose songs continue to inspire generations with their message of love, peace, and cultural pride.
