As an encouragement as well as acknowledgement of their being successful in cracking the country’s most prestigious Union Public Service Commission Examination 2017, the Academic Board Adi Baane Kebang felicitated Miss Masanda Magdalin Pertin (443 rank) and Dr Ojing Dameng (644 rank) on Saturday at State Convention centre, Itanagar for bringing glory and honour to Adi community and state of Arunachal Pradesh as a whole.

At large, the programme was attended by civil service aspirants from across the state who were immensely benefited from the success story sharing of both successful candidates. The programme also witnessed an interactive session for the aspirants who exchanged queries about civil service preparation with both the achievers.

Masanda Magdalin Pertin who completed her M.Phil. and presently pursuing her Ph.D. from JNU, New Delhi while being successful in the civil service exam in her second attempt and sharing her success story for the civil service 2017 said that, to prepare for UPSC one has to collect the material, simplify it, break it down, build the routine, set target and study hard. She also suggested to all those aspirants who have been preparing for the civil service exam but could not succeed to 'try different' with three Fs, i.e. Fix it (To fix the problem) Feedback (seeking feedbacks from experts) and focus (Focus on the exam). She also said that, to be successful in the civil service exam one has to be with right peer group to imbibe positivity. Being a child prodigy since her schooling days she credited her success to her parents who have constantly supported her.

While, Dr Ojing Dameng who did his entire schoolings from government schools in Arunachal Pradesh and rose to success in the 2017 civil service exam in his first attempt without any coaching and who presently is serving as a Medical Officer under government of Arunachal Pradesh shared that, the quest for civil service developed only in 2013 during his final year MBBS at JIPMER. Getting inspired from his senior like Dr Joram Beda and Dr Radhe Talo to take up civil service and conquering all adversaries in life he suggested the aspirants to follow the mantras of 3Ps: Perspiration, Perseverance and Perseverance. “During my Medical college days I hardly use to have pocket money as my parents could not support me to that extend. My uncle, Er. Dimak Gamnoh has always stood by my side without which I would never have come this far” said Dr Ojing who topped almost all exams that he appeared in both state and national level. He also advised the aspirants not to be discouraged with limited financial support but to keep focus and be determined.

From the organizers, Dr David Gao, Member Secretary, Academic Block ABK while addressing the gathering advised all the aspirants to get encouraged and motivated through such achievements and programmes. He also extended gratitude on behalf of Adi community to the state government for providing cash incentives for all the UPSC civil service qualifiers.
