Areca nuts worth Rs 5,30,90,100 seized in Mizoram's Sazep, and Champhai

AIZAWL: In yet another success in its crusade against smuggling activities Assam Rifles have seized a huge contraband of Areca nuts

from Sazep, Champhai of Mizoram on September 27.

The approximate cost of the seized contraband areca nuts is Rs 5,30,90,100.

The operation was carried out by a joint team of Assam Rifles and the Customs Department, Champhai based on specific information.

The joint team recovered as many as 1,66,950 kgs (approximate) of Areca Nuts from a general Area Vanzau - Sazep, Champhai.
