NOKLAK: Assam Rifles organized a Picnic for Adora Children's Home at Noklak on January 1, 2021. The New Year Celebrations, in form of a picnic filled with fun and frolic activities, made the day memorable for the little angels. A picture from the picnic doing the rounds on social media shows Assam Rifles jawans interacting with tiny tots from the Children's home.

The picture shows the young ones playing, while amused Assam Rifles jawans look on from the background.
Notably, Noklak is Nagaland's 12th and newest district. It is located in the easternmost part of India. Noklak district is the headquarter of Khiamniungan Naga tribe.
The picture, taken merely days after the re-imposition of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in Nagaland for another 6 months, has evoked strong response on social media. The move by the Centre has evoked strong response, with most Nagas waiting with bated breath for a solution to the decades-long insurgency in the state.
While some social media users have lauded the Assam Rifles for interacting with the public. "Well Done AR", wrote one social media user, while another termed the picture as "AFSPA in disguise."
