Guwahati, October 7, 2019:

Troops of Assam Rifles, in an operation, recovered a huge quantity of contraband items worth Rs. 28 Crore near Moreh in Tengnoupal district.

Based on a specific input regarding the possible presence of contraband items, a team of Assam Rifles, along with Moreh Police including women constables, conducted a search at a house of a lady in Phaicham Veng of Moreh. She has been identified as Vahjahat Haokip.

After a thorough search of the house, a huge quantity of contraband items was recovered hidden inside the wooden walls and ceiling of the house. These included 5,04,000 WIY tablets, weighing approximately 53.54 Kg, Crystal Ice Myth 15.269 Kg, Ketamine 2.206 Kg, 194 Bottles of Phencydile.

The team also recovered Rs. 74,150 and Burmese 49000 Kyats. Approximately, the team recovered contraband items worth Rs 28 crore.

The recovered contraband items and the culprit has been handed over to Moreh Police for further investigation.
