Shillong, April 9, 2020:

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma today launched his continuous appeal to the people of the state yet once again to stay alert, stay safe and stay aware of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic that has taken precedence in the whole world via a video produced by CR Media, a unit of CR Projects.

The video has been inspired by the Chief Minister’s appeals on numerous occasions through several platforms. The production is a part of CR Projects’ social initiative reflective of its endeavour to lend an extra hand to the citizen’s of Meghalaya.

In the cinematic video, Sangma says that the nation has to come together, which will send a "very powerful message to the rest of the world." He also lauds the health workers who are working behind the scenes. In the cinematic video, Sangma also warns that although no cases have been detected in Meghalaya, they cannot take things "slightly".

"This will be a challenge, this is a crucial period a crucial and  a system should be in place to really monitor things amd at the same time we are really monitoring the situation of individials who are coming in from outside. Those who could be from the state but working or studying ourside or working outside and we are having a system to completely watch them", Sangma further informs in the short video clip.

The video also stresses the need to stay indoors, while reminding at the same time that Assam, Manipur, Tripura, Arunachal, and Mizoram have all reported cases of the COVID-19 so far. It also shows scenes from the deserted streets of Meghalaya amid the lockdown, with the usual buzz in the hill town replaced with a sense of urgency and patrolling by armed personnel.

The cinematic video was published in the official Facebook page of the Chief Minister alongwith the caption, “The COVID-19 pandemic is an unprecedented crisis faced by countries around the world today. Every nation, whether big or small, is being put to test by this virus. As our country grapples against this disease that has affected normal life and caused a huge economic setback, we are trying to work collectively to defeat this. Let us champion this together!”
