GUWAHATI: Amid ongoing research to roll out an effective vaccine during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan declared that the jabs will be free all across India.
"Covid-19 vaccine will be free of cost across the country," Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said on Saturday while reviewing preparations for vaccine dry run in Delhi.
"Not just in Delhi, it will be free across the country," Dr Harsh Vardhan said on being asked if the Covid-19 vaccine will be provided free of cost.

It needs mention here that the COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 96.08 per cent as more than 23 thousand COVID patients recovered during the last 24 hours. The Health Ministry said, the total number of recoveries has gone up to over 98 lakh 83 thousand.
The actual caseload currently comprises only 2.47 per cent of the total positive cases. Presently, the total number of active cases in the country is around two lakh 54 thousand.
During the past 24 hours, 20 thousand 36 new cases were reported taking the total number of positive cases in the country to over one crore two lakh.
The Ministry said, currently, India’s Case Fatality Rate is 1.45 per cent, which is one of the lowest globally. During the last 24 hours, 256 deaths were reported taking the toll to one lakh 48 thousand 994.
In a related development, the Committee of Experts of the Central Pharmaceutical Standards Control Organization (CDSCO) of the Government of India on Friday approved the emergency use of Covishield, a vaccine for the Corana virus. The Oxford-based vaccine is being produced by the Serum Institute of India (SII) in India.
