BJP MP Rebati Kumar Tripura expressed confidence that the saffron party will perform well in the ensuing ADC polls as the indigenous tribals are with the party.

“BJP is the only party that stands for permanent solution of problems. Akin to the longstanding Bru issues, our party will also meet other problems of the indigenous people of the state. And, they will stand along us like they accosted hope on us in Lok Sabha and Assembly elections” the MP claimed adding that despite misleading campaign against the party he was able to register a victory in the East Tripura parliamentary constituency which is reserved for the tribals.

When asked about party's preparations for the polls, he said, there are widespread criticism that the BJP has no political activity in the hills but it is all wrong.

Tripura added that the BJP is the only party that organized a stakeholders meeting with all the civil societies belonged to 19 tribal communities. "The Bharataiya Janata Janajati Morcha asked everyone to register their demands, complaints and grievances with them. A report on that basis has been already forwarded to the party high command and the Chief Minister for further action. And, we are hopeful of getting positive results within some time", the MP said.

Lashing out at the opposition CPI(M) and Congress, the MP said that the parties that never concerned themselves with the concerns of the tribals are now shedding "crocodile tears". He also accused the opposition parties of trying to foment communal tensions. "The parties which ruled the state after independence, have never taken steps to serve the interest of indigenous population of the country", Tripura charged.

"Only recently the state cabinet has passed a number of resolutions for the betterment of the indigenous community people and also to develop the ADC areas", the Tripura MP said, adding, "All the issues, such as right to land, forest rights, Kokborok in 8th schedule will be addressed positively..."
