Manipur Approves Slew of Schemes to Boost Development

Imphal: October 13, 2019:

Manipur state cabinet has approved a slew of schemes in order to accelerate business growth and aid over development process of the state.

Among the schemes passed are – Stand Up Manipur, Manipur Regulation of Sale Deed Registration Rules 2019 and Manipur Regulation of Sale Deed Registration Rules 2019.

‘Stand Up Manipur’, under the existing Startup Manipur scheme, aims to boost the business ecosystem. It mainly aims to support entrepreneurs belonging to the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, OBC, Women and Minorities of the state. The scheme will provide subsidies to the said groups and help set up their businesses.

The Manipur Regulation of Sale Deed Registration Rules 2019 was also approved by the state cabinet in order to regulate and curtail inappropriate transfer of property.

The state’s vision document, the Manipur Vision 2030 Document, also received the green signal to formulate targets and sustainable development goals for the state.

Moreover, the state cabinet also have decided to amend the Manipur Combined Competitive Examination for Direct Recruitment of Section Officer (Grade I & II) (Engineering department), rules, 2014.

It has further approved the Chief Minister’s Scholarship Scheme for Civil Services Coaching to help civil service aspirants to pursue the required knowledge.

The state cabinet, in its meeting, has approved the appointment of various posts of non-teaching staff of Manipur Technical University, besides resolving the set-up of Police Outpost at the National Sports University’s entry gate.

These schemes and decisions taken in the cabinet meeting are aimed to aid in the state’s overall development in the long run.
