Manipur: Security Meet conducted by Assam Rifles

Guwahati, January 4, 2019:

The Tulihal Battalion of 9 Sector Assam Rifles conducted monthly security meets. The meets were held at Mayang-Imphal, Nambol, Patsoi and Tulihal company operating bases. Many local dignitaries were present at the meet.

Issues pertaining to security, maintenance of peace and harmony in the area and current situation prevailing in the area were discussed. Problems relating to drugs were also discussed and the role of Meira Paibis women’s social movement is curbing the menace of drugs in the region was highlighted. Civic action projects such as medical camps and installation of solar street lights were also discussed as were programs to benefit youth such as career counselling. Hygiene was also discussed.

Locals expressed their gratitude to the Assam Rifles for hosting the meet and ensuring peace and safety in the region.
