Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday paid tribute to his late father, Purno Agitok Sangma (1 September 1947-4 March 2016) on the third anniversary of his death. PA Sangma, who founded the NPP, had served as the Chief Minister of Meghalaya from 1988-1990.
“We miss you dad. You have always guided us to work for the people and the society at large, we will continue to carry forward your dreams for our people”, Conrad Sangma posted on micro-blogging site Twitter.
The Meghalaya Chief Minister also took part in several activities in order to pay tribute to the memory of his late father. As a tribute to P.A. Sangma, the Meghalaya administration has renamed the Dikki Bandi Stadium in Tura to PA Sangma Stadium. Moreover, the Araimile-Dakopgre-Walbakgre road in Tura has been named as PA Sangma road as a tribute to the departed leader.
