Myanmarese man's corpse found floating in Mizoram's Mat river

AIZAWL: The body of a 56-year-old Myanmar-origin man who was working as a chowkidar in an agriculture field was found floating in the Mat river this afternoon, sources said.

Local authorities have confirmed that the body was found floating under Chawmkai Bridge in Mat River this afternoon.

The deceased was eventually identified as Mangkhama from Hakha, Myanmar, who came to Mizoram in search of a job and had been staying in the Indian state for several years.

The circumstances leading up to his death are yet to be ascertained and investigations are underway.
