KOHIMA: The Nagaland government on Friday issued SOPs for passenger vehicles to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the state.
The SOPs will come into effect from August 9.
As per the new guidelines, in buses and light vehicles, the maximum occupancy permitted is 50% while taxis and auto rickashaws, only two passengers will be allowed. However, no passenger will be allowed in the front seat.
The drivers and attendants of every passenger vehicle plying within the district should be asymptomatic and should have been fully vaccinated. People who have the single dose will also be permitted only if at least 15 days have passed since the first dose.

In case of inter-district bus and taxi services, the passengers are also required to be fully vaccinated or should have taken the first dose at least 15 days prior to date of travel.
In both private and commercial passenger vehicles, everyone including the drivers, attendants should mandatorily wear masks. Anyone found without mask shall be fined an amount of Rs 200.
Pillion riding continues to remain suspended.
Carrying of passengers in any transport vehicle carrying goods/commodities including water carrier, dumper etc shall not be permitted.
The state recorded 110 fresh cases of COVID-19 on Friday with one fatality.
A total of 79 recoveries registered in the state in the last 24 hours.
