India's largest automobile manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki has been forced to cut its production for the 8th consecutive month due to a lack of demand for passenger vehicles in India.
It may be mentioned here that Maruti Suzuki’s total vehicle production in the month of October stood at 1,19,337 units against 1,50,497 in October in 2018.

The production of passenger vehicles was also down 117,383 units from 148,318 in October last year. The production of Van slipped nearly by half from 13,817 in October 2018 to 7,661 October 2019.
In the mini-segment, the manufacturing of vehicles slumped to 20,985 last month from 34,295 in October 2018. This segment includes Alto, S-Presso, Old WagonR, etc.

The number of units produced of Baleno, OEM Model, Dzire, etc last month was 64,079 from 74,167 in the corresponding month last year. Only utility vehicles like Gypsy, Vitara Brezza, Ertiga, XL-6, S-Cross saw a slight growth at 22,736 in October from 22,526.
