The devastation caused by floods in Assam has caused alarm all over the country, and many high profile celebrities have made appeals to their 'fans' to help the people affected by floods. Prominent actor and former 'Bigg Boss' contestant Ajaz Khan has now joined the voices which have spoken up about the floods in the State.
Khan posted a video on his official Youtube channel and questioned why the flood situation Assam is not getting as much attention as the 2018 floods in the state of Kerala. "People came out to the streets, to bring Kerala up on its feet. However, nobody is taking heed of the dire flood situation in Assam, nobody is coming out. Salman Khan had announced Rs. 12 crores for Kerala, so I would like to request all the stars to make similar donations to the people of Assam, because the people of Assam are feeling left out. I have contributed myself, but I want everybody to come forward as I cannot do it all by myself", he said.
Khan also lamented the fact that the national media is not following the flood situation in Assam as closely as they followed the Kerala floods.
It may be mentioned that 'Khiladi' Akshay Kumar had earlier announced a sum of Rupees two crores towards the flood relief efforts in the State of Assam.
