South Korean film 'Parasite', a vicious social satire about two families from different classes, has taken home the award for Best Picture Oscar at this year's ceremony.

The film's Director, the acclaimed Bong Joon-ho, also won Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. Parasite's victory gains extra significance as it is the first subtitled film to have ever won the top prize at the Oscars. In total, the acclaimed dark-comedy has won four awards. Additionally, Parasite also won in the Best Foreign Language Film category.
Meanwhile, Sam Mendes' World War I drama '1917' that was initially tipped to win Best Picture, has taken home 4 prizes, all in technical categories.

Renee Zellweger won best actress for playing Judy Garland in Judy. Joaquin Phoenix won best actor for Joker. Brad Pitt and Laura Dern won the supporting acting awards for their roles in Once Upon A Time in Hollywood and Marriage Story respectively.
