The death toll following the coronavirus outbreak in China has rose to more than 360 on Monday. 57 new deaths have become the single-biggest increase in Wuhan, China due to the deadly disease.
With 2,103 new cases, the total coronavirus cases have increased to 11,177 in Hubei. In China, all but one of the 57 new deaths were reported on Monday in Wuhan and the rest of Hubei province. Most of these areas have been under lockdown for almost two weeks to stop people from leaving and transmitting the virus.

It may be mentioned here that China’s death toll of over 360 has crossed the 349 deaths following the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) outbreak of 2002-03.

Coronavirus has been declared as a global health emergency by the World Health Organisation (WHO). It has spread to more than 24 countries since its outbreak in Wuhan. The first foreign death from the virus was reported in the Philippines on Sunday.
