Novel coronavirus or COVID-19 cases across the world have soared to 621,086 as on Monday afternoon. According to Worldometers data, the death toll has reached 28,661.
With such staggering numbers, nations across the world have gone into a lockdown mode in order to combat coronavirus.
The coronavirus or COVID-19 has so far affected 199 countries and territories around the world with the highest cases in the USA currently. USA and Italy have occupied the top spots with the highest number of infected persons -- 105,019 and 86,498 respectively. China's numbers have lowered and now 81,394 positive coronavirus cases.

Spain, Germany, Iran, France, and the UK are the other countries, which have the maximum number of positive cases. It needs mention here that the total active cases of coronavirus stand at 455,062 currently and 24,017 people are in critical condition.
Among these ten countries, the Spain has reported the highest number of cases as on Saturday -- 6,529. USA recorded 893 new cases.
The USA came to the fore recently due to a significant spike in coronavirus cases with the total cases reaching 105,019. 1,717 fatalities were recorded till the filing of this report.
According to Worldometer, a website which compiles new cases of coronavirus, New York tops the list with more than 46,262 confirmed cases. As many as 606 people in New York have died.

An AFP data showed that if we go by continent, Europe has listed 329,501 cases and 19566 deaths till date. Asia has 103,478 cases and 3,715 deaths, the Middle East has 43,016 cases and 2,590 deaths, the US and Canada together has 109,459 cases with 1,764 deaths, Latin America and the Caribbean has 11,739 cases with 232 deaths, Africa -- 3,897 cases and 117 deaths and Oceania has 4,139 cases with 15 deaths so far.
The total number of coronavirus or (COVID-19) cases in India has now risen to 933, with 21 deaths being recorded as per the latest data from the Health Ministry and State Governments.
the Government of India has announced a a Rs 1.7 lakh crore stimulus to help those hit by the 21-day lockdown in the country. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das also on Friday deferred the EMIs on housing, personal and auto loans for three months.

Additionally, the RBI Governor announced that it would cut its repo rate by 75 basis points (bps) to 4.4 percent. This apart, the reverse repo rate stands reduced by 90 bps to 4 percent.
The economic relief package worth Rs 1.7 lakh crore has the Garib Kalyan Yojana, which aims to benefit 80 crore poor or two-third of the population. The Government under this scheme will provide 5 kg rice or wheat free for the next three months. This is in addition to the 5 kg ration that they already get. The scheme also provides them the option of choosing their own preferred pulses of 1 kg.
