New Delhi, August 8, 2019:

Pakistani activist and Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai on Thursday appealed for an end to the conflict in Kashmir as tensions emerged after scrapping of Article 370 in the state of Jammu and Kashmir by the Central government.

Malala also mentioned that the children in Kashmir have grown up amid violence for last 70 years.

Expressing concern of living in a conflict zone, the Nobel Laureate took it to the social media and tweeted: “The people of Kashmir have lived in conflict since I was a child, since my mother and father were children, since my grandparents were young.”

She also mentioned that she shares her home with 1.8 billion people in the South Asia that includes Kashmiris as well.

Reportedly, Malala expressed concern mostly for the women as they are the most vulnerable to violence and most likely to suffer losses in conflict. She has also made an appeal to all South Asians, the international community and authorities to respond to their suffering.
