Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh on Friday, while inaugurating a police outpost at Sora Khunuda Ching in Kakching District, said that the Government is looking to settle the reformed drug peddlers in the State.
N. Biren Singh stated that there has been a considerable change in the behaviour and conduct of police in the past few years, and people are no more feeling uncomfortable and scared in meeting them.

The State has witnessed a constant rise in entrepreneurship movement and upsurge in economic activities because of the significant improvement in the law and order situation, he said while adding all these were possible due to the joint dedicated efforts of the different security agencies including Manipur Police.
Stating that police have been carrying out the campaign of 'War on Drugs' successfully with the co-operation from public and different CSOs, Singh said that drugs worth around Rs. 1000 crore had been seized so far ever since the campaign was launched.
The Chief Minister also expressed the need for providing alternative means of livelihood to drug peddlers after reforming them. He also urged the people to avail benefits under different Government schemes instead of embracing illegal means of livelihood.

Urging the public to actively participate in CM's Green Manipur Mission, the Chief Minister appealed to the people of Sora and adjoining areas to plant trees in the nearby hills in consultation with Zilla Parishad Member and police.
