FIRST EVER CYCLE PATROL UNIT LAUNCHED IN MANIPUR

Guwahati, November 6, 2018:

The first ever Cycle Patrol Unit of Manipur Police was launched in Imphal By IGP Zone I Clay Khongsai.

The launching of the Cycle Patrol Unit was an initiative taken up by the Kakching district Superintendent of Police as part of Community Policing.

Inaugurating the unit, Clay Khongsai said “in the context of Manipur it is a good initiative in saving fuel considering the constraints in the police department, better maintenance and interacting with the public which is less intimidating.”

“It is important to focus on the success of the initiative taken up by the District SP,” added Khongsai.

Khongsai further said that it is necessary to monitor the Cycle Patrol Unit through GPS installed in the cycle or communication set up given to the jawans considering the law and order situation in the state.
