Gold worth Rs 1.06 crore seized in Manipur

Imphal, (Manipur) Aug 18, 2018:

The Anti-Smuggling Unit, Customs Division Imphal on Saturday recovered gold biscuits worth Rs 1.06 crore in two different case.

In the first case, the unit apprehended four persons with 16 gold biscuits weighing almost 3 kg from Koirangei Bazar near the Imphal-Dimapur road. The persons were identified as Sanjoy Krishnani, Umesh Darda, Jayram Parbati Mangani and Harish Nanikaram. The gold seized amounts to Rs 94.55 lakh.

Another seizure was made from North AOC Imphal where a person was apprehended carry two gold biscuits weighing 399 grams inside his rectum. The person was identified as Dilip Rajkumar Laljini of Maharashtra. The gold is valued at Rs 11.79 lakh.
