A source told Inside Northeast that the blast that took place right in the heart of the city, was likely targeted at non-indigenous communities of the State.

The source said that this is the first time that serial blasts have taken place in Manipur. "No one has taken responsibility for the blast and since there was no warning to these communities, so the ILP question does not arise.
According to the source, the area is inhabited by the second-generation Hindi speakers, such as mostly from Bihar, and also from other states and its a mystery to all who might be behind the blast. "No organisation or individual have own the responsibility of these blasts, which is a bit strange as in earlier cases, those responsible were quick to claim and supplemented with their reason/objectives. This seems like a case of intimidation", the source said.
