Information and Public Relations Minister Shri Thongam Biswajit Singh urged the youths to strive hard to achieve their goals and bring changes in the society while attending the Sapphire Jubilee Celebration of Keithelmanbi Youth Association at Brigadier Sirohi Ground at Keithelmanbi Village under Kangpokpi District on Tuesday.
Speaking as the Chief Guest at the celebration, the Minister said that the youths should play a significant role in the society to touch the hearts to be remembered by the generations to come as our forefathers did.
They should amplify both mental and physical energy to bring changes in the society and inherit good values for nation building, he added.
Acknowledging Manipur as the power house of sports by the Center, the center has given a go to build sports university and made MC Mary Kom as Member of the Pariliament of the Upper House.
The youth should have a positive intention and fight discrimination which will help to bring growth in the society, he observed.
Minister Biswajit further said that Education is the backbone of the society and the youth should work hard with a positive thought to achieve their goals.
He further said that the present government has proved to bring new development in the State.
Assuring to the complains addressed in the Memorandum submitted by the people there, Minister assured that the roads will be black-topped at the earliest and new lanes will also be marked for smooth connectivity.
Households without electric connection in and around Keithelmanbi will also be electrified free of cost in consultation with the local MLA, he added.
Minister Biswajit also elaborated on the benefits of Saubhagya and Ujawala Schemes.
Attended the celebration as Functional President, Social Welfare Minister Smt. Nemcha Kipgen said that Youths are the pillar of the nation and all need to have a collective mindset involving youth, women and the elders to bring development in the society.
Keithelmanbi being the largest but least developed village, Minister Nemcha said that she will make the village a Model Village and will upgrade the high school if the criteria to upgrade permits.
The Sapphire Jubilee Monolith was unveiled by Minister Th. Biswajit. Cultural dance and songs were performed by the locals.
The celebration was also attended by village chiefs, students and by the locals.
