MANIPUR: VC IS OPEN TO ANY DISCUSSION RELATED TO THE ONGOING UNREST

The Vice Chancellor of Manipur University in his statement on the agitation mentioned that the VC is open to any discussion related to the ongoing unrest in the university. He appealed to all the agitating representatives of MUSU and MUTA to come forward for constructive discussions. He asserted that any differences between the administration and MUSU/ MUTA can be resolved through proper dialogue but not at the cost of the students career.

He also mentioned that in his tenure of one and half year he initiated many developmental activities like- admissions to various PhD programmes, preparation of eighty number of first ordinance as demanded by MHRD and PhD required by UGC were completed during short period of time to meet the timelines of MHRD and UGC. However MUSU and MUTA do not extend any appreciation or acknowledgement for his earnest efforts to the cause of student’s welfare.

Priority was given to complete the incomplete infrastructures He successfully tried to get sanctioned for the posts of yoga dept, National security studies dept, Teacher education dept. (13 posts) music dept. All the teaching posts had been already advertised and the interview was scheduled to start from 25th June 2018 but it is also delayed by the agitation launched by MUSU.
