The 63-year-old had held various posts in CADC and retired as Education Officer before joining the BJP.

His switch-over comes a month after another CDBJP President Prema Ranjan Chakma had shunned the saffron party on November 09, 2020 and joined MNF.

A short induction program was held at MNF party's office today where Ranga Mohan Chakma was accorded a warm welcome in the presence of CADC CEM Rasik Mohan Chakma and other prominent leaders.

Speaking at the induction program, Chakma said, "CDBJP is full of negativities. Such negative politics is a setback for any progress and will only pull down the party. I have developed confidence in the present MNF leadership both in the State and CADC which is capable of ushering in development on all fronts in CADC. This prompted me to join the MNF."

Earlier in the morning while interacting with Media persons, Mr Chakma said there is discrimination within the CDBJP. "Some of the CDBJP office bearers may be matured in age, but they are not matured in thoughts and ideas. I see no prospect associating with them anymore", he said.

Rasik Mohan Chakma, CEM, heartily welcomed him to the party's fold and expressed hoped that his joining will further strengthen the MNF party in CADC.
