The Joint Legislators’ Forum (JLF) of Nagaland assembly has urged its neighbouring states (Assam, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh), to ‘extend all possible cooperation so that the Naga peace process can conclude in a successful manner that will enable peace and stability in the entire region.’ Moreover, the forum also urged the negotiating parties -- NNPGs and NSCN (IM) to come together ahead of the final accord.
This was stated by the JLF members through a resolution passed on Wednesday. The JLF along with two MPs representing Nagaland passed a six-point resolution at the consultative meeting on Naga political issue in Dimapur.

The resolution stated, “We appeal to our neighbouring states to build trust and confidence within us so that we can live peacefully under an environment of mutual co-existence and cooperation.”
Appreciating Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Nagaland Governor and Centre’s Interlocutor RN Ravi for bringing the talks thus far, it added, “The House reiterated the August 07th, 2019 JLF Resolution and appealed to all the stakeholders — the negotiating parties (Working Committee of 7 NNPGs and the NSCN-IM), Hohos, civil society organisations, churches and the people, to foster a spirit of unity and oneness amongst each other to facilitate the eventual solution to the protracted Naga political issue that is honourable, acceptable and which recognises the uniqueness of the history of the Naga people.”
Adding that it will continue to play the role of active facilitators and extend all possible cooperation to ensure that the peace process is successfully concluded, the JLF stated, “We also appealed to the WC NNPGs and the NSCN (IM) to sit across the negotiating table and bury all differences for the greater good of the Naga people and further appealed to all other groups who are not on board to join the peace process.”
