The All Nagaland Adhoc Teachers Group (ANTAG) today resorted to indefinite hunger strike outside School Education Directorate at Kohima demanding for regularisation of their service.
After series of meetings held between the department officials and the ANTAG no positive responses has been shown from department/government pertaining to their demands and for non-compliance to the assurances, the agitator after staging sit in protest for seven days has ultimately launched the proposed indefinite hunger strike.
It may be noted altogether 1166 Adhoc teachers has been serving in different districts of the state with a fix pay of Rs.6000 and Rs.8000 per month which most of the families are unable to suffice their livelihood. The ANATG informed that the strike will continue till the government fulfilled their sole demand.
