The dissidence in Nagaland BJP is gaining momentum with three saffron party legislators demanding the ouster of the state president Temjen Imam Along, who is a Cabinet Minister in the PDA government.
The legislators are Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton; Minister for Health & Family Welfare Minister, Pangnyu Phom and PHE Minister, Jacob Zhimomi.
According to a report by the State Department of Information & Publicity (DIPR), the three legislators told the DIPR on their arrival at Dimapur Airport from Delhi that they support the BJP tradition of ‘One Man One Post’.
“They also informed that majority of BJP legislators are of view that the state BJP President should be a senior BJP Karyakarta (worker) and non-legislator who can devote full time to the party affairs,” the report said.

Stating that the legislators expressed gratitude and confidence in the BJP central leadership and was optimistic that the internal BJP issue would be settled very soon in the larger interest of the party, the DIPR report said the legislators informed that complaint was filed by 10 district presidents of the State including senior BJP workers, senior members from the Mahila Morcha for replacing the present Nagaland State president Temjen Imna Along to the National BJP general secretary, Ram Madhav during his visit to Nagaland on June 25. As per direction of the National BJP leaders, the State BJP legislators reached Delhi on July 12 and had two series of meetings on July 13 with Central leaders led by National president JP Nadda and other central leaders to discuss issues pertaining to the BJP fiasco in Nagaland as it was felt necessary for settling the issue.
However, Along refused to make any comment on the issue. According to sources, five BJP legislators had gone to Delhi on July 12th, 2020 to oust State Higher and Technical Education and Tribal Affairs Minister, Temjen Imna Along from the post of BJP Nagaland president.
