Lata Mangeshkar Hospitalized after Complaining of 'Breathing Difficulty'

Mumbai, November 11, 2019:

The legendary songstress Lata Mangeshkar, 90, was hospitalized in Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Monday after complaining of 'breathing difficulty', reports said.

Mangeshkar, who was taken to the Intensive Care Unit of Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital early Monday morning, is on "a path of recovery."

A family source told mediapersons that she had "suffered from a viral chest infection. Presently, she is on a path of recovery. We could have treated her at home But we decided to get her to hospital.... It's close to our home plus treatment is thorough."

According to reports, Lata Mangeshkar was taken to the hospital at 2 am and later admitted in the ICU.

It may be mentioned here that Lata, who is a recipient of the Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Awards, was honored with the "Daughter of the Nation" title on September 28, the occasion of her 90th birthday.

It was only yesterday that the veteran singer tweeted about Padmini Kolhapure's comeback to the big screen with Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon's Panipat.

She was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's Highest Civilian Award in 2001, and is the most renowned songstress from this part of the world.
