Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with farmers on Friday from six different states as part of an event to release the next instalment of financial benefit of more than Rs 18,000 crore to over 9 crore farmers under the ‘income support’ scheme (PM-Kisan), with transfers coming at a time when the centre is trying to resolve protests by farmers against the new agri law.
“PM Narendra Modi will release next instalment of financial benefit under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) on December 25 via video conferencing. PM will enable the transfer of more than Rs 18,000 crores to more than 9 crores beneficiary farmer families,” the PMO said.

A selected group of participants from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and other states are expected to share their views on the benefits of the farm laws during their interaction with the PM.
