With two fresh coronavirus positive cases reported in Siliguri, the total number of cases has gone to 2677 in West Bengal.
Confirming this, the Darjeeling District Health Authority said, the swab sample was taken from two patients on May 17 and the result came today morning. The authority further informed that both of them had a travel history. The patents have been sent to Dr Chhang Covid 19 Hospital for quarantine. However, the authority has not revealed the identities of two yet.

Besides, the officials informed that both the persons were under home quarantine ever since their return to the West Bengal. This is the first COVID-19 case in Siliguri.
Of 2677 total confirmed COVID-19 cases, 1480 are active and 959 have been cured/ discharged while 238 died in the state so far.

Kolkata, West Bengal, registered highest confirmed COVID-19 cases with 1311 followed by Howrah (571) and North24 Parganas (355). Meanwhile, Assam registered 104 confirmed cases so far while a total of three persons died in the state. Of 104, 58 are active cases while 41 have been cured/ discharged in the state so far.
It may be mentioned that the lethal virus has infected nearly 1 lakh and claimed over 3000 lives across the country so far. A total of 33,053 cases have been registered in Maharashtra, which is the highest by any state, followed by Gujarat with 11,379 cases and Tamil Nadu with 11,224 cases.
