Telangana plans 30,000-acre futuristic city, offers free land for NE Bhavans

In a major announcement at the Telangana – North East Connect event, attended by Telangana Governor and former Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma, Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, and other dignitaries, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy unveiled an ambitious new development plan, Bharat Future City, a 30,000-acre futuristic township proposed on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

Positioning the project as a symbol of national integration, the Chief Minister declared that the Telangana government would offer free land and complete support to establish India’s first North-East Annex within the upcoming mega-city.

Revanth Reddy said all eight North-Eastern states — Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura, would be invited to construct their own state-specific Bhavans in the special annex.

These Bhavans will function as vibrant cultural hubs, featuring hostels, art and handicraft galleries, performance spaces, and centres to promote intellectual and cultural exchange. “Each state can build its own Bhavan, showcase its culture, and strengthen the bond between Telangana and the North-East,” Revanth Reddy said, emphasising the state’s commitment to fostering regional harmony.

Highlighting ongoing cultural ties, the Chief Minister noted, “A Telangana brother is serving as the Governor of Tripura, and a Tripura brother is representing Telangana as its Governor,” calling the exchange a testament to growing unity between the regions.
