SIKKIM: CELEBRATION OF BIHU BY ASSAM ASSOCIATION IN GANGTOK

Assam Association Sikkim (SAS) composed of Assamese people working and studying in Sikkim celebrated Rangali Bihu at Saramsa Garden, near Gangtok today. The celebration was attended by Arithang Constituency MLA Shyam Pradhan. The celebration as an endeavour to bridge the diverse culture of northeast. The interesting part of the celebration is the people were seen dancing in maruni dance (nepali traditional dance).

Last year, students of Sikkim University had celebrated Bihu in a small scale and this is the first time Bihu being celebrated in grand way.
