Guwahati, December 10, 2018:

With Arunachal Pradesh karatekasproving their forte at an international event by winning 16 medals in the justconcluded ninth Commonwealth Karate Championship (CKC) at Durban in South Africa.

According to ‘The Arunachal

Times’, the karatekas from the state bagged four gold, six silver and the same

number of bronze medals.

Deepak Jomoh, Samem Romat and

Raja Yangfo bagged the gold medals in the individual events, whereas the trio

Bamang Yamu, Goda Asha and M Sengh bagged a gold medal in the senior women’s

team kata.

The other players in the

different categories also showed their enthusiastic performance and helped

their state to collect medals.

Notably, Arunachal had made a

clear way for the karate medals in the first North East Olympic Games, which

was held at Imphal in Manipur, in last October.
