Regional Meteorological Centre of Guwahati on Tuesday predicted improved weather conditions in Assam during the 'Khelo India Games', scheduled to be held in Guwahati from January 10 onwards.
Addressing the media, DDGM, Regional Meteorological Centre, Guwahati, Dr Sanjay O’Neill Shaw said that on January 9, there are possibilities of light rain or drizzle in Guwahati.

However, according to the weather inputs, the weather will improve on January 10, when the Khelo India kicks off in the state.
It is to be mentioned here that the India-Sri Lanka T20I match was cancelled due to heavy rains in Guwahati that was scheduled in Guwahati, on January 5.
A ‘Media Workshop on Weather and Climate Information’ was organized by the Regional Meteorological Centre, Guwahati on Tuesday. During the workshop, the media persons were briefed about the services provided by the Regional Meteorological Centre, Guwahati. Sunit Das, Scientist-E explained about the various types of weather forecasts and warnings issued by RMC Guwahati. Atul Singh, Scientist-C described the weather and climatic information of NE region.
