Manipur Daughter Sanathoi Devi Yunman Bags Wushu Silver in China

Imphal, October 23, 2019:

Arjuna Awardee Sanathoi Devi Yunman of Manipur made the entire state proud on Wednesday after winning a silver medal at the 15th World Wushu Championships held in Shanghai, China.

The Manipur wushu fighter won a silver in the women's 52 kilos category after losing the final  bout against Yueyao Li.

It may be mentioned that she had won three consecutive silver medals at the world championships, held in Turkey (2011), Malaysia (2013) and Jakarta (2015).

The World Wushu Championships are held every two years and are organised by the International Wushu Federation.

This official international competition sees many countries from around the world participating. Wushu originated in China and P.R.China has always won the most medals in these competitions.
