The girls from Manipur defeated Railways 1-0 in the finals to win the 25th Senior Women’s National Football Championship, held at Pasighat in Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday.
Railways had defeated last year’s silver medalists Odisha by a score of 3-1 to reach the finals.

Defending champions Manipur, on the other hand, thrashed Tamil Nadu 5-0 to make the final.
The trophy was handed over by Arunachal East Lok Sabha MP, Tapir Gao.

The tournament was held from September 10 to 24 and was the first major Women’s National Football Championship hosted by the frontier State, Arunachal.
