Visiting team Mohemeddan Sporting club, Kolkata, won the title of 39th Governor's Gold Cup.
In an interesting final match that was held today between the home team Sikkim HimalayAn Sporting Club and Mohemeddan Sporting club, Kolkata, the visitors won with a score of 2-1 in a match held at Paljor Stadium.
The finale was attended by CM PS Tamang as chief guest, among other cabinet members. For the winning team, both the goals were scored by Vanlalbiaa Changte. Eugene Nimco scored the only goal for the home side.

The winning team received a cash prize Rs 1.5 Lakh, while home team Sikkim Himalayan received Rs 1 lakh as runners up and in addition, the Chief Minister gave Rs 5 lakh to the Sikkim team for making it to the final.
Before the final match of the gold cup, an interesting exhibition football match was held between Ministers team (CM XI )and Bureaucrats (Officer XI). From CM XI, Ministers of various departments and MP Indra Hang Subba played and while from other side Secretaries of various department took part.

Both the teams scored two goals each. The winner was declared by a tie-breaker in the penalty shootout, wherein team CM XI won the match by 6 goals, against 5 goals of the opponents.
