Arunachal’s Yangki Taki makes history as first woman from state to present Man of the Match at international cricket

For the first time ever, an Arunachalee woman has presented the Man of the Match award at an international cricket event. Miss Yangki Taki, one of India’s top business performers with SBI Life, handed over the special “Apne Liye, Apno Ke Liye” Award during the South Africa vs India Test match at Guwahati’s Barsapara Stadium on 26 November 2025.

Hailing from Komsing village in Siang district, Yangki is the daughter of Shaini Taki and Moryom Pertin Taki. She has secured the 2nd position nationally in SBI Life’s business performance rankings, a milestone achieved with strong support from her father, who is also associated with SBI Life.

“This is a great achievement and a proud moment for Arunachal Pradesh and the entire Northeast,” said Rajiv Kuli, Chief Business Manager, SBI Life, Pasighat. He added that Yangki’s selection is a recognition of her outstanding professional accomplishments.

Yangki presented the Man of the Match award to South Africa’s Senuran Muthusamy, marking a historic moment for the state.

“As parents, we feel immensely proud that our daughter has become the first Arunachalee woman to present an award at an international cricket event,” said her father, Shaini Taki.
