With the ADC election coming closer, the IPFT is trying to re-energize their base again. IPFT has also resolved to hold demonstrations at the Jantar Mantar, Delhi, demanding a separate state.

IPFT (Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura) assistant general secretary Mangal Debbarma has said that they will stage a peaceful demonstration at Jantar Mantar on December 2. According to Mangal Debbarma, at least five hundred people will attend the demonstration.

Their main demand is that the Central Government should place a bill in the Parliament for creation of a separate state called Tipraland, comprising the areas of TTAADC (Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council).

It is notable that a separate state called ‘Tipraland’ is the main 'slogan' of IPFT and to fulfill their demand, they blocked the national highway and railway for ten days, in 2017.

A high level modality committee was also formed by the central government, to evaluate the socio-economic, linguistic, educational, and cultural aspect of the tribals in Tripura.

The committee was formed one year back but till now no report has been submitted by the central Government, while the IPFT is demanding the report. Meanwhile, they have also demanded a resolution to the Bru refugee problem in the state.
