The Tripura unit of of the CPIM on Sunday accused the Narendra Modi-led Central Government of favoring the corporations in the Union budget announced on Saturday.
The party state Chief Goutam Das alleged the government had not only placed a “devastating budget”, but it had done almost everything to sell out the national assets to the corporations.

“This budget is a budget to sell the country. The national assets are being gradually transferred to the corporate capitalists. LIC, Railways, IDBI and many more which are profit making entities of the government are being readied for privatization” Das said, while addressing the Press after the two days party conference.
“Allocation in highly publicized schemes like MGNREGA, Swachh Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana and Ayushman Bharat have been reduced drastically. It shows us how the government is facing hardships in ensuring well-being of the citizens” he said, lashing out at the Modi Government's schemes.
He also took a dig at Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb's recent remarks on 15th Finance Commission and called it a "jumla" (gimmick). Recently, the Chief Minister had said that the government would initiate a recruitment drive after the 15th Finance Commission.

“It is all lies. The government has already inducted the defense expenditure in the Finance commission, which will lead to new problems for the states” said Das.
Das also told media about a range of issue that had come up for discussions in the two day state conference of the party. Das has informed that the party is gearing up for protests against CAA, NPR and NRC.
