The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) Chief Badruddin Ajmal on Thursday lashed out against rival parties BJP and Congress at Mankachar in South Salmara district of Assam. Ajmal has been accused polarizing remarks at the J M School in Mankachar, which falls under the Dhubri Lok Sabha Constituency.
At a rally in Mankachar, Ajmal referred to the recent incident in Biswanath Chariali where a Muslim man was forced to consume pork, Ajmal said: "Seven days earlier a bearded Muslim man was made to eat pork. These people are thugs of Himanta Biswa Sarma, of the RSS, of the BJP, of Amit Shah, of Modi. He was beaten repeatedly and made to eat pork..."
Only Muslims who wish to eat pork would vote for the AGP candidate Javed Islam, Abu Taher Bepari, Ajmal said.
"The BJP has resolved to turn Indian into a 'Hindu Nation' by changing the Constitution. Congress Prime Ministers from Jawaharlal Nehru to Manmohan Singh never tried to turn India into a 'Hindu nation', but Modi has tried to do so in five mere years of rule. The Mahagathbandhan (grand alliance) will form the Government."
"Modi will never be Prime Minister in five hundred years", Ajmal opined. Ajmal did not spare the Congress party either and claimed that the party had neglected the interests of the people of Assam.
It may be mentioned that Ajmal, the sitting MP, will be contesting from the Dhubri Constituency which will head to the polls on 23 March.
This time as many as 17 candidates are in the fray from 4-Dhubri Parliamentary Constituency spreading across 10 assembly constituencies of Dhubri, South Salmara-Mancachar, and Goalpara district.
