The Sunni Waqf Board on Saturday expressed that it respects the Supreme Court’s verdict on the “Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid” title dispute.
However, addressing the media after the judgement, Sunni Waqf Board Lawyer, Zafaryab Jilani, said, “We respect the judgement but we are not satisfied, we will decide further course of action.”
The Supreme Court in its verdict gave its nod for the construction of Ram Mandir.
The historic judgement was made by a five-judges bench led by Chief Justice of India, Ranjan Gogoi. The bench also included justices S A Bobde, D Y Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer.
A total of 2.77-acre land has been given to the Hindu parties by the Supreme Court with a trust to be formed by the Centre to monitor the construction of a Ram Mandir.
It may be mentioned here that the Sunni Waqf Board will get 5 acres of alternate land, which will be accorded either by the state or the Centre.
