Lord Vishwakarma is revered as the celestial architect who designed palaces, flying chariots, and weapons for gods and demigods.
The legendary city of Dwarka, the capital of Lord Krishna’s kingdom, is believed to have been built by Vishwakarma.
According to mythology, the golden city of Lanka (later ruled by Ravana) was designed and constructed by Lord Vishwakarma.
The magnificent capital city of the Pandavas, Indraprastha, with its dazzling Maya Sabha, was his creation.
He is credited with crafting powerful weapons like Lord Shiva’s Trishul, Lord Vishnu’s Sudarshan Chakra, and Indra’s Vajra.
Vishwakarma is also believed to have crafted the chariots of the nine planets (Navagrahas), symbolizing cosmic balance.
He is regarded as the divine progenitor of all craftsmen, artisans, blacksmiths, masons, and engineers.
Unlike many gods, his festival doesn’t follow the lunar calendar but is observed on 17th September every year, dedicated to professionals, factories, and workplaces.
In different Yugas, he is credited with constructing divine abodes—Swarga in Satya Yuga, Lanka in Treta Yuga, Dwarka in Dwapar Yuga, and Hastinapur in Kali Yuga.
