Ways to deal with Wisdom Tooth Pain

Apply a cold compress or ice pack wrapped in a towel to the outside of your cheek for 15-20 minutes at a time to numb the area and reduce inflammation.

Ice Packs

Mix a teaspoon of salt in a cup of warm water and swish it around your mouth for 30 to 60 seconds to help with discomfort and inflammation.

Saltwater Rinse

Take nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) like Ibuprofen or pain relievers like paracetamol (acetaminophen) to help manage pain and reduce swelling. Always follow the recommended dosage and instructions.

Over-the-Counter (OTC) Pain Relievers

Over-the-counter numbing gels containing benzocaine can be applied directly to the sore gums to provide temporary relief, but check for any allergies first.

Clove oil contains eugenol, a natural numbing agent. You can place a whole clove on the affected tooth or apply a small amount of clove oil on a cotton ball to the painful area.
